Culture in Jura

Château‐Chalon

This is a wine-lover’s dream. Keeping watch on the edge of Revermont, Château-Chalon is the “beacon” of the vineyard. Legends and history become one here in one of the “Most Beautiful Villages in France”, birthplace of the famous Vin Jaune (“Yellow Wine”).

Baume‐les‐Messieurs

A “blind valley”, four belvederes, a cave, a cascade and an “imperial” abbey... These are just some of the treasures buried in the spectacular site of Baume-les-Messieurs, one of the “Most Beautiful Villages in France”.

Arbois

This city of wines, where Jura’s own Louis Pasteur grew up, is a lively town: you won’t be able to resist wandering around the old market town, built in yellow ochre stone, and stopping for a meal at a gourmet restaurant. A short way away, Poligny, the capital of Comté, invites you to taste the “Prince of Cheeses”.

The Sites & Paysages (Sites and Scenery) network comprises more than fifty 3 to 5-star campsites across the most beautiful regions of France, where you can get back in touch with nature and meet people passionate about their region. You’re sure to have a unique and unforgettable experience.
